Welcome To Me

Hi hello!

I’m Sarah Mowaswes a first-generation Palestinian-American producer based in New York City. I went to college in Chicago, have lived and worked in Los Angeles, and my heart lives in NJ where I grew up.

I began my career editing and directing sketch comedy at Northwestern University before moving out to Los Angeles to edit social content for TMZ during the 2016 election.

I then went on to work with various top level comedy directors in LA on shows such as This Is Not Happening (Comedy Central), Idiotsitter (Comedy Central), Kevin Can Wait (CBS), and the feature film TAG (New Line Cinema). Some other LA gigs include being a talent booker and production coordinator for the Comedy Central pilot Strictly Platonic starring comedian Steve Berg and the publicity consultant for the feature film American Animals starring Even Peters.

In 2018 I returned to my roots in NYC and began working on the Peabody Award-Winning Netflix Series, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj in which I produced the series’s first ever cold open sketch.

Since then I have worked on talk shows and political campaigns editing and producing videos that promote untold stories and helped register young people for the 2020 election cycle. I then went on to work as the Archival Producer on the Emmy Nominated series Glad You Asked for YouTube/Vox Media as well as the Archival Producer for the Spirit and Gotham Award nominated HBO series Mind Over Murder directed by Nanfu Wang. I have also story produced the four-part documentary series for Hulu, Never Let Him Go, on gay hate crimes as well as the feature length documentary This is a Film About the Black Keys which has premiered at SXSW and DocNYC.

My strong suit lies in being able to highlight and work with rich archive to tell difficult human stories. Currently, I am producing a feature length documentary about the genocide in Palestine.

You can always catch me dodging traffic during NYC road runs and dancing around with my cat, Salem.
